Q

How will RCI improve my holidays?

A

The answer is simple. Your holidays will be improved because you will now have the flexibility to choose: The resort and destination of your holiday - How long your holiday will be - When you travel - The size of your apartment - The number of holidays you want to take - The standard of the resort you visit . . . and vary this every time you go on holiday!

Q How does it differ from Timeshare?
A With conventional Timeshare you own a specific week in a specific unit in a specific resort. A very inflexible system. With RCI you have none of the restrictions of conventional Timeshare. You are able to holiday when you like, where you like and as often as you wish using your Points, and the holidays you don't take can be saved up and used in the future.

Q

What other benefits are available through RCI Membership?

A

As a RCI member, you will be able to save and borrow your Points to get the best flexibility in your holiday choices.

You can also take advantage of great Late-Break offers where holiday weeks are discounted by up to 50% off the listed Points value. You will have access to any unreserved space at RCI resorts, so the selection will always be larger during off-peak times.

Can't stay a whole week? Well, some RCI resorts offer short break holidays such as weekend breaks or mid-week stays to help you get away from it all. But, remember you will only use the Points needed for this shorter duration holiday.

Q What are Holiday Points?
A You receive your allocation of Holiday Points each year and you use these Points like money to exchange for holiday time in the Resort Accommodation which forms part of the RCI System.

You receive a Resort Points Value Guide which contains the Points Tables of all the Resorts in the system. This enables you to determine just how many Points it will cost to holiday in a particular unit size at a specific time of the year. Obviously peak seasons cost more Points that low season times and large units more Points than small units. etc.

Q What is a holiday Points System?
A A holiday Points System is like a Club. It has a portfolio of holiday accommodation that its Members can occupy in exchange for Points. All the holiday accommodation is graded or valued in Points based on the following criteria;

Location of resort

Facilities available

Type of accomodation

Q

What security is there?

A

RCI believes that its members deserve the maximum protection available and for that reason they have selected one of the world's largest independent specialist trustees, First National Trustee Company (FNTC). They will hold the inventory of accommodation in trust to ensure that the total accommodation available to members is greater than the amount represented by the number of Points sold. FNTC will also ensure that the properties held in trust are secured, protecting the members' interests and guaranteeing that the properties within the system are, as intended, for members' use.

Q

How do we get our Points each year?

A

Your Points allocation will be credited to your account automatically every year equal to number to the Points Rights that you own. Members will receive an annual statement showing how many Points they have available - and the Points that have been spent on holiday reservations.

Q

What happens to the Points I don't use?

A

All unused Points can be saved and then carried forward for three to five years (including the year of issue).

Q

What if I don't have enough Points for the holiday I want?

A

You can borrow Points from the next year to use in the current year.

Q What is the major benefit of the RCI Points System?
A The flexibility to holiday WHEN you want, WHERE you want, in the SIZE and QUALITY of accommodation that suits you best and if you don't want to holiday one year or you want more than you are entitled to then you can SAVE unused Points to the next year or BORROW Points from a subsequent year.
Q Can I buy points anywhere ?
A No. Only licensed vendors.
Q What about management fees?
A You continue to pay your management fee to the resort and any extra points purchased are charged out at a nominal fee normally around 16/17p per point for the average UK timeshare owner.
Q I am a floating time owner, can I still become a member of RCI?
A Yes, RCI will allocate you Points equal to the overall value of the weeks within the season that you own.

Q

How do I become a member of RCI?

A

If you already own a timeshare week, you can convert this to Points. The normal way this is achieved is for the timeshare owners to retain ownership of their week(s) and convert this to Points by 'ceding' the right to use the week(s) to the RCI Points System in return for Points.

This means that the Points System has the week to use each year, and the timeshare owners receive the number of Points that the week is worth.

Normally timeshare owners 'convert' to Points by granting use of their week(s) to the Club in return for an annual Points allocation. These members still own their week(s) and retain their home resort obligations.
